Industry News - 29th June 2023
In April, we told you that HMRC had given taxpayers more time to make voluntary NI contributions and that the deadline to make additional payments had been extended to 31 July 2023. Read our original news story here.
In a recent update, HMRC has now announced that a further two more years will be given to allow people more time to consider their options and to make sure no-one misses out on the chance to boost their State Pension entitlements.
The new deadline of 5 April 2025 is intended to help those who need more time to work out if making voluntary contributions is the right decision for them. According to HMRC, the extension will enable thousands more people to take advantage of the opportunity. Tens of thousands have already made voluntary contributions since the original deadline was announced.
